In 2nd Grade we are gearing up for a new year by taking a journey into “Life on the New Frontier”. During this unit, we will be exploring the western way of life using nonfiction texts. We will also learn how to navigate through nonfiction text using a variety of text features.  As we are reading about the lives of cowboys and cowgirls, we will also begin learning how to write about our own lives through narrative writing. In math, we are learning strategies that will help us add and subtract up to 20. Each week we will also focus on a spelling skill that students will be tested on at the end of the week. Every day in second grade is filled with engaging learning experiences that focus on furthering our students’ learning.
